Create Your Own Minecraft World: A Java Modding Workshop

Minecraft is an incredibly popular video game that allows players to build and explore virtual worlds made out of blocks. In this workshop, students will learn the basics of Java programming and use their newfound skills to create their own Minecraft mods. Mods, short for modifications, are add-ons that alter the gameplay experience and allow players to customize their Minecraft experience.

Throughout the workshop, students will learn the Java programming language, and use it to create a variety of Minecraft mods. Students will learn how to create new blocks and items, add new creatures to the game, and change the way Minecraft functions. They will also learn how to customize the game's user interface and create new animations.

At the end of the workshop, students will have a better understanding of Java programming and how it can be used to create mods for Minecraft. They will also have a collection of their own Minecraft mods that they can use and share with their friends.

Requirements:

To participate in this workshop, students should have:

• A working laptop or desktop computer that meets the following requirements: Operating System: Windows 7/8/10 or macOS 10.12+ CPU: Intel Core i5 or better RAM: 8 GB or more Hard Drive: 256 GB or more
• A Minecraft account
• A basic understanding of computer and keyboard functions

Eligibility Criteria:

This workshop is designed for students in grades 6-8 who have an interest in video game development, programming, or Minecraft. No prior programming experience is necessary, but a willingness to learn and explore is required.
